David Nicastro

David Nicastro, A Massachusetts native, entered into the United States Marine Corp in Aug 1996. While in his Infantry and Security Forces School he was selected to the Second Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company (2nd FAST Co) in Yorktown, VA. He was a part of such security missions as the bombing of the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya in 1998 and the security of US Embassies in Kosovo and Macedonia during a time of civil unrest. David finished his time in FAST Co conducting Maritime operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. David moved onto Private Security work in Iraq and Afghanistan in May 2004 and stayed in this line of work until Dec 2014. David was inspired to move on from his security work in war zones when Glen fought and sacrificed so bravely in Libya.

David has a wife Tricia and three young children, Isaiah 5, Annelise 2 and Luke 1 and they were huge motivating factors as to the new life changing move. In 2013, soon after the Boston Marathon bombings, David took the Massachusetts State Trooper Exam and passed with a score of 101 out of 102. As the war gets closer and closer to home, David believes his skills, experience and knowledge learned from his time in the military and security contracting will best be utilized serving as a Massachusetts State Trooper. The Trooper academy starts in October 2015 and The Glen Doherty Foundation Scholarship is helping out tremendously while David makes the transition from security work in war zones to full time Husband and Dad and eventually a Massachusetts State Trooper upon graduation in mid 2016.
