A native of Hillsborough, California, LT Seiff graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering and commissioned as a 2ndLt in the US Marine Corps. As an 0602, Communications Officer, he served as both the Satellite Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer for Support Company, 9th Communications Battalion, I MEF. He was forward deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Regional Command, Southwest.

 

He graduated Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training, BUD/S, with Class 298 and was attached to SEAL Team SEVEN where he forward deployed to CENTCOMs Crisis Response Element. There he served as the Theater Stability and Cooperation Program (TSCP) Platoon Commander in support of regional training exercises, while providing a rapid response force to the CENTCOM Commander.

 

His most recent tour was as the Special Operations Advisor to US Naval Forces Korea during the most volatile period in US-Korean relations in recent decades. Here he was responsible for Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO), Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) operations, Operations Plans development, and crisis management for both US Forces Korea and Special Operations Command, Korea. His decorations include the Navy Commendation, Navy Achievement with gold star, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal, as well as various unit and service awards.
