RICK MILLER

Navy SEAL, US Navy  - 10 years of service

University of California Los Angeles, Anderson School of Business / Executive MBA

Rick Miller served in the United States Navy for the last decade.  Originally from the Santa Clarita Valley in California, Rick went on to attain his undergraduate degree from San Diego State in 2010, where he was on the Varsity Crew team and was exposed early on to the SEAL Teams.  After joining the Navy in 2012, he went on to serve in the Special Operations community, completing multiple deployments around the globe.  His exposure to working in austere environments and conflict zones with foreign leaders, ambassadors and militaries has driven him to start his own business consulting worldwide and to continue his education pursuing an MBA from UCLA-Anderson School of Management. With his advanced degree and love for flying, he strives to be part of the growth in emerging aviation technologies to secure our gateway to a more unified human experience.

The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation scholarship has been instrumental for Rick’s access to foreign programming and ensuring his success in his future endeavors that would otherwise be out of reach.

Rick wrote to share some news from the first year of his MBA program at UCLA Anderson School of Business:

"As we approach the summer session, I am thrilled to share that I will be working towards my certificate in Global Management and Entrepreneurship. This is yet another opportunity that has been made possible by the GDMF's generous financial assistance. These certificates not only augment my educational portfolio but also put me in the right circumstances to lead and succeed on the global scale.

As I continue my journey at UCLA, I carry with me the spirit of the GDMF – that of resilience, courage, and leadership. I am enthusiastic about the future and the opportunities it holds, knowing that the foundation's support is empowering me to chase my dream."
