Anthony Taylor

As a child, Anthony looked for an opportunity to be a part of something greater than himself that could lift him out of the life he was born into. The Army serendipitously turned out to be his refuge. In 2010, Anthony had no other means of paying for school and decided to join Army ROTC to pay for his education at Wake Forest University. He was a Junior in college when Glen was killed. As he watched the news reports and witnessed the Special Operations community focus inward on its fallen heroes and their families in the months following the Benghazi Attacks, Anthony was inspired by the level of support and camaraderie within the Special Operations community. It was at this point that Anthony had set a new goal: to become an Army Ranger.

In 2014, Anthony graduated and commissioned from Wake Forest University as an Infantry Officer and subsequently completed the Infantry Basic Officer Course and Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia. Anthony went on to serve as both a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division’s elite Pathfinder Company at Fort Bragg, North Carolina before having the opportunity to assess for and be selected to join the 75th Ranger Regiment. For the next two and a half years, Anthony served as a Ranger Platoon Leader in the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Special Troops Battalion at Fort Benning, Georgia. In 2017, Anthony deployed to Afghanistan with his platoon in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. In 2019, after sustaining a series of injuries, Anthony pivoted out of the military and into school where he is planning to leverage his leadership experiences from the military and graduate school education to create larger scale change within the education industry.

Anthony is currently earning his JD/MBA from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and Kellogg School of Management. He plans to use both degrees to pursue his entrepreneurial goal of starting his own consulting company within the increasingly regulated higher education industry. Anthony lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife and son where he enjoys home improvement projects and playing with his two dogs.
