Key Fundraising and Training Dates


November/December

  • Set up your fundraising page linked to the GDMF charity
  • Review the guides for training and fundraising
  • Complete your training plan and race goals
  • Training plan officially starts on December 26th (16 weeks)
  • Start planning your main fundraising event


January

  • Team meeting (Zoom) on Wednesday the 11th at 7PM to discuss logistics/Q&A
  • Register on the 18th (will confirm date/time and other details on 1/11)
  • Fundraising target: raise $2500 by the 31st
  • Long run goal: 13 miles by the 31st


February

  • Saturday, 25th - Natick to Boston team run (to be confirmed)
  • Fundraising target: raise $5000 total by the 28th
  • Long run goal: 17 miles by the 28th


March

  • Boston Marathon Day of Giving on the 15th - great opportunity to win a gift card for raising over $1000 this day!
  • Saturday, 25th - Hopkinton to Heartbreak Hill team run (to be confirmed)
  • Fundraising target: raise $7500 total by the 31st - meet that goal and earn free gear!
  • Long run goal: 21 miles by the 31st


April

  • Friday, 14th - Provide update on donations, instructions for your friends, family and donors to track you on race day
  • Saturday, 15th - Team dinner
  • Monday, 17th - Race day is here!
  • Fundraising target: raise $10,000+ total by race day!
  • Wednesday, 19th - Send race and donation report with pictures and thank yous


May

  • ALL donations and thank yous complete by the 15th
