Glen Doherty was one of four Americans killed in the terror attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. Glen was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his contributions to our nation. This foundation is our way of honoring Glen's life and his beliefs.
OUR MISSION
The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation (GDMF) was established to help ease the transition from military to civilian work for the Special Operations Community. Inspired by Glen’s love of learning and his passion for adventure, we aim to bring personal advancement into the lives of as many Special Operators as possible.
OUR FOCUS
Our focus is on providing current and former Special Operations professionals (and their families), from all branches of the military, the means necessary to transition and succeed in civilian careers. We accomplish this by providing scholarships for traditional education or vocational/professional training.
OUR CHARITY
We are a 501(c)(3) charity organization dedicated to honoring and preserving the memory of Glen Doherty and all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defending our nation.
