BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Kate Quigley, President

Kate is the sister and friend to Glen Doherty and represents her family in the role of President for the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation. Kate is humbled by the outpouring of love and support after the loss of her brother Glen. In the aftermath of that loss, the Board of Directors channeled all of their energy into a positive place and the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation was born. We honor Glen by giving back to the special operations community in his name and by doing so his memory will live on in the lives that we touch. Kate is also a Marketing producer, loves all things outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Kate is married to her best friend Mark and has three beautiful boys: Jack, Thomas and Cameron. Kate and her family live in Marblehead, MA.

Thomas Donahue, Treasurer

Tom and Glen became friends in 1977 in Winchester, MA. The next 35 years were spent cajoling, ribbing, admiring, mocking and hugging one another. Tom and the Winchester boys listened to Glen’s assertion at Christmas 1995 that he was going to be a Navy SEAL, and the best way to do it was to enlist at age 25. He achieved that goal, along with many others, and he was ultimately killed doing a signature Glen move: helping his friends. Through the generosity and caring of people around world, the GDMF can continue Glen’s efforts in helping out his friends in the special-forces community. Tom’s role is to make sure that we stay true to our mission and Glen’s roots, and as Treasurer, to make sure that we are maximizing the impact of our donations. Tom is an investment banker, advising business owners/leaders in selling their companies, buying other companies or raising capital. Tom lives in the Boston area with his wife Kristin and their three children.

Kristin Donahue, Clerk

Kristin met Glen when she first started dating her husband and fellow GDMF founder, Tom.  She shares a love of skiing, being on the water and athletic challenges with Glen.  Kristin had the pleasure of watching Glen launch himself off of cornices in Vail’s back bowls, competing together in local tri’s and beating his ass in an epic summer “girls take boys” wiffle ball game.  Losing Glen was unimaginable to Tom’s childhood friend posse.  But Glen continues to be the glue between many and Kristin considers it an honor to keep his spirit alive by supporting the Special Ops community.  Kristin has helped build the GDMF operations and manage fundraising events since our inception in 2013. Prior to her role at the GDMF she received an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT in 1999 and was a Managing Director at Putnam Investments.  Kristin and Tom’s 3 kids have grown up a part of the GDMF family.

Michael Shannon

Michael and his older brother Chuck, one of Glen’s best friends, grew up in Winchester and are family friends of the Dohertys. Although their adult lives took them in different directions professionally and geographically, Michael and Glen remained close over the years. Their bond was strong and built on mutual admiration, loyalty and respect. Preserving Glen’s legacy and helping others that are in his position transition out of Special Forces and into civilian life has become a cause near and dear to Mike’s heart. He brings his sales, operations, and project management skill set to GDMF. With his own and his family's political, law enforcement, and business relationships he brings a unique ability and perspective to help grow GDMF. Michael lives in Winchester, MA with his wife and son.

Muffy White

Muffy was lucky enough to grow up with Glen as a part of her family in Winchester, MA and later as a roommate to both of her older brothers between Utah and California.  Glen was a powerful influence in her family and an incredible role model as a brother, friend, and skier. He exemplified the commitment and love required to have great relationships. That is the legacy she carries into her role at the GDMF.  Muffy manages GDMF social media and hopes to connect as many people as possible to the great work GDMF is doing and keep Glen’s spirit alive.  She lives in Gloucester, MA with her family who all are dedicated to “being awesome every day” in the name of Uncle Glen.

Erin Sweeney, Finance Manager

My name is Erin. I live in Winchester and even before moving to town my family and I have looked forward to the Glen Doherty weekend every year. My experience includes working for the DoD, specifically the Air Force. I manage all the hiring for the finance trainees (new college grads) and the 3 year program these individuals are hired into. I have also taken on training the new finance officers and enlisted across 8 locations within the US. I very much enjoy working with the military and I feel my experience will be an asset to the GDMF team.

Some of my favorite things to do include being in the mountains of Maine. I love to snowboard in the winter and mountain bike in the summer and really anything outdoors like hiking and spending time on the lake.
