Navy SEAL, US Navy – 21 years of service
Duke University Fuqua School of Business/ M.B.A
Adam is currently an MBA candidate at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and is honored to be a recipient of the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation scholarship. Originally from Baltimore, Adam entered the US Navy just nine months before the terrorist attacks on 9/11. After graduating from Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL training with class 239, he reported directly to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team TWO, where he would serve the first four years of his career training in undersea operations. Adam would go on to serve at other high-level commands within Naval Special Warfare and ultimately complete thirteen combat deployments throughout the Middle East and Africa.
After finishing his transition from the military, Adam hopes to work in the defense technology industry, where he can use both his business acumen and military experience to help bridge the technological gap between the Department of Defense and Silicon Valley. In a time of rapid technological development and expansion, Adam hopes his work will ultimately lead to a safer operating environment for US forces deployed in harm’s way.
Adam lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and he is supported by his wife of twenty years, his two teenage children, and dog “Artie.”
