Matt Hartsog served as Naval Officer and US Navy SEAL for the past ten years. Matt grew up in the city of Hurricane, West Virginia and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2011. Upon graduation and commissioning, Matt successfully completed Basic Underwater Demolition / SEAL training in 2012 with BUD/S class 292. Over the last decade, Matt has held numerous operational and tactical leadership roles with various deployed elements across Europe and Africa. In addition, he has worked with foreign leaders, ambassadors, and senior US military officials to drive US policy in these regions.
Matt is now pivoting his career and is currently attending Harvard Business School and Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He will complete an MBA and Master of Science in Engineering over the next two years and is focused on helping shape emerging technology for energy production and storage. Matt currently lives in Boston with his wife, Deanna, and two daughters, Charlotte and Lucy. They enjoy exploring the New England area and spending time outdoors with their golden retriever, Murphy.
