Michael Myers

Army Special Forces - 10 years of service

Harvard Business School - MBA

Michael Myers is a New Jersey native, US Army Special Forces Officer, and MBA candidate at the Harvard Business School. Growing up in the aftermath of September 11th and raised in a family rooted in selfless service, Michael learned a deep passion for serving others early in life. Michael found his opportunity to do so through his decade of military service as an Infantry and Special Forces Officer and now plans to continue making an impact by driving defense technology innovation.

In 2014 Michael graduated from Boston University and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. He served in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) for five years before earning his Green Beret and joining 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). During his time as a Special Forces Detachment Commander, Michael deployed to Hungary and Ukraine in support of operation ATLANTIC RESOLVE. During his last deployment, Michael firsthand how technological advancements were reshaping the modern battlefield and empowering a vulnerable people to defend itself from hostile oppression. This experience helped him find his next mission in life: building innovative capabilities that extend our national defense while keeping our servicemembers from harm.

Michael is pursuing his MBA at Harvard Business School and concentrating his studies on the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship.  In addition to his studies, Michael is constantly seeking opportunities to pay forward the help he received throughout his career. He is joining the Army Reserves where he’ll teach the next generation of Army ROTC cadets at his alma mater, Boston University, and volunteers his time with Service to Schools helping veterans follow in his footsteps to pursue higher education in their own transition from active duty. Outside of work, Michael spends most of his time with his wife, Caroline, and two boys, Liam and Weston.
